Bought three chickens online. Easy to pick up, helpful staff and the birds are clean and healthy and started to lay from day one. Even better, they are extremely laid-back chickens, who are easy to handle (I'm a novice) and fine with my nosy dogs. They didn't understand about going into the coop at night, or how to feed from an Eglu feeder, so I kept them in the run for three days. Once they could do both of those things, I clipped their wings and let them into the garden. They eat, lay and sleep very well and are a real pleasure to have around. Saw some reviews saying staff were rude but I found all contact was very pleasant. They open early but staff have a break at 11-12, so best not to arrive then and expect great service - it's a working farm, not a supermarket. Check website for opening and closing times.

Absolutely a waste of time. Went there to buy 2 hens. Told I can only buy 3 then he said he doesn't have the code to get in to the hens. The bloke said to go back on Monday at 3pm. Messaged them on Facebook to be told they shut at 2.30 Monday. I wouldnt reccomend them to anyone. Totally a waste of time and effort. Also he was so drunk he could hardly stand. Added info...After reviewing the birds they claim to be selling, I have noticed that they dont match the breed shown on other poultry sites. Be very careful with this place. One bird they have sold as a cream crested legbar is in fact a bluebell, they told the buyer it would lay blue eggs when in fact a bluebell lays brown eggs. Totally unprofessional and clearly ripping people off.

Very very rude staff. A chicken had escaped onto our land - when we rang them up - they refused to collect it and we were told to keep it! Telephone call was recorded so going to go to Caerphilly county regarding the way they treat the animals. Will never go here again!

Phoned them once, they must have saved my number without my permission and now I'm getting regular messages from them, which I simply do not want to be receiving. It will not allow me to block them and its also a no reply number so you can't reply with stop or anything. They obviously don't want anyone messaging them but they are unprofessional enough to collect you contact number without permission and then message constantly.

Every single person is so rude and arrogant it's funny. Not once have I been smiled at by any of the employees here! We've bought things several times from here and each time we arrive we have a bet to see if we can get the lady in the office to smile! Neither of us ever manage! When they interview people they must state... "you must hate your job from day one and show this to the customers."

Shocking! Lady and man in the office were having a massive argument, swearing in front of my 4 year old son. Staff were very rude apart from the man driving the fork lift. The place was a mess, don't bother,!

I have a dozen eggs from Mr Welshegg every week always fresh and tasty would not get my eggs from anywhere else.
